Why Choose The Baby Slings Over The Traditional Baby Carriers Today?
All mothers want their children safe and comfortable in any type of carrier they choose. But that is not always the situation, When choosing the bably sling, it meets these needs and then some. It is made out of 100% cotton and some of organic materials. They are very fashionable and come in a variety of patterns and colors. The baby sling is durable and machine washable. Since the baby sling is used like a wrap, the mother is aware of where her baby is at all time and comforted in knowing that the baby is safe.
I have personally observed while at a grocery store,m where a mother had put her baby on the roof of her car in one of the basket seat ype carriers. After placing her purchases in the car, she forgot the child was on the roof. I told her before she was able to drive off and she was alarmed but thankful that I told her. She thought she had the baby in the back seat secured.
This is very dangerous thing to do with a child. There have been many TV shows, showing how the mother thought after loading their purchased items into the car, that the child had been retrieved from the roof of their car and secured inside the car. Well, actually the carrier was still on top of the roof of the car with the baby still inside the carrier seat and the mother starts to drive off.
Fortunately for these mothers, someone notices this and are able to warn the mother; preventing the child from getting seriously harmed.
With the baby sling, the mother is always aware of where the baby is as well as having total use of her hands to do things without putting the baby down in anyway. This is mainly because the sling is designed to support the baby in the cloth material which is wrapped around the mother's waist and neck. The baby sling is a one-piece material carrier. The baby is placed in either a natural craddling or sitting up position. The sling is able to support the baby and can be adjusted for the baby and mother's comfort as the baby grows.
Privacy, is also a very important issue for new mothers who are breastfeeding their child. Most baby carriers do not allow for comfortable access and absolutely no privacy when breastfeeding the baby. The way the baby sling is made and worn, it offers just that, privacy and easy accessibility.
I have done research with some of my friends and family members who just recently became new mother and were mothers of young children, to see what method they prefer to carry their child. One of my neighbors, who just become a new mother for the first time a couple of monthes ago, says she likes to carry her baby as close to her as possible. She states that when using the baby sling, her baby appears happy and she knows her baby is safe. The baby sling feels similarly to holding the baby in her arms, while offering extra support.
In inteviewing some other moms with newborns and mothers with small children, I found that they had some issues with some of the more traditional carriers. l will point out a few.
1. The front and or back pack type, while using the strap method of putting the baby into it could be a little cumbersome and did not give that snuggling effect that a baby gets when in their mother's arms. Some mothers felt that this type of carrier has the baby's arms and legs exposed and dangling out. Carrying the baby this way, in the upright position with the legs and arms out, does not really have the baby in that natural cradling position.
2. The baby basket type carrier. The baby looks comfortable but is not close to mother in any way. There is this disconnect from the mother's natural warmth and soothing heart beat rhythm that a newborn becomes instantly used to.
A newborn baby comes into this world and most ot the time is immediately laid upon the mother's chest. On their mother's chest, the baby's senses develops the familiar sense of the mother's smell and hearbeat. These senses can be referred to as the connecting experience with the mother. And when using the baby sling, these senses are aware of the nother's body and that nurturing factor. This product has become a hot item. It has been shown on the internet being used by some very famous Hollywood Actors who have become new moms.
