How do you feel about homemade gifts? ?
I am never very into them unless it's something amazing like a handmade blanket or hand needle pointed table cloth. I hate receiving crafty things like scarves that never get worn or crafty jewelry... I am an artist so I guess I am a bit snotty about those things. I also hate crafty stuff- like someone made little fabric pouches and filled them with hot chocolate and tied them with ribbon. I thought that was highly gross since I know how fabric is made and treated with chemicals. I know it's the thought that counts but I feel guilty not liking it, I don't want the stuff and then I give it to good will and feel even more guilty.
How about you? Love it or hate it?
I am not complaining- just asking people what they think.

The point is they don't take a long time to make- people slap them together and then your suppose to be like Oh, it's so meaningful- when it's not. It was cheap and easy and that's why they did it.
I am a crafty type person but don't make crafty gifts for just anyone because of the very thing you mention. I'm a bit of a snob that way myself about receiving crafty gifts, partly *because* I make stuff. Like one year my MIL made a photo collage of the Disney vacation we took them and framed it...nice effort and all but I'm a scrapbooker. The photos were horrid quality (scans from prints from a disposable camera-really, really grainy) and if I'd wanted something along those lines I'd have done it myself.
I sympathise with what you're saying!
