Can you even get a REAL custom made sword?
I'm fully aware that something like a real custom made sword could cost thousands of dollars. I would just like to know if there is a place that can make custom designed sheaths, blades, hilts, and the like.
I've looked up the question on here and found plenty of places where you could kinda mix and match your sword, but that's not what I want.
Also...every reputable place I have found that people claim to be able to do this are all made in China. Something just feels wrong about a "Japanese sword" made in China.
This one lets you design your own katana

and I have found several others that will custom make swords to your specifications.
The reason so many swords are made in China is Japan limits the amount of swords a sword maker can make and sell per year in Japan. I can't remember the exact number but it is a rediculous low number so a lot of japanese swordsmiths take their business to China. The danger is that the Chinese jumped on the band wagon and are selling their own line which unfortunately a lot of times is junk. It is often hard to tell if you are dealing with a legitimate sword maker or a rip off.
Why don't you get in touch with a traditional iado or iajuitsu school and see who they can refer. It would probably be your safest way to end up with what you want especially if you are planning on spending a lot of money.
