How is the orthodontic wax suppose to go on my bracket ?
Also, any advise as in how to deal with the pain and cuts around my mouth? I've had braces for about 4 days now and it hurts a lot! When is the pain gonna go away?
Make a small soft ball of the wax and press it over the offending bracket. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water for the cuts and irritation. Don't talk more than necessary and stick to soft foods like soup, applesauce, pudding and ice cream for a few more days. Takes a week to 10 days for the pain to ease when they first go on, after that adjustments cause discomfort for a couple of days.
