When to wean from bottle and when to start potty training?
I will be giving my daughter cows milk in a couple months, when she is a year old. I currently give her juice in a sippy cup, but when i start giving her milk do i wean her from bottle to sippy cup and only give it to her in a cup? Is it easier to do it then rather than waiting? Also, when is the best age to start potty training and how do i know she is ready? I don't want to pressure her.
If she will take her milk in a sippy cup when she starts it, then definitely go with the cup. The sooner a baby is off the bottle after their first birthday, the better because extended use of the bottle can cause tooth decay.
Potty training is best to start when she is ready - She will want dirty diapers changed, know when she has to go (and probably go in another room or a corner for privacy), be able to understand/communicate bathroom words (potty, peepee, etc.), and pull her pants on/off. This may happen anywhere from 18months-3years. But even before these things happen, you can introduce the concept - read potty theme books, let her choose a potty, let her see you use the toilet, etc.
