Please tell me all car models that you know use the same (>90%) cataloged auto parts in Mexico and USA?
I am planning to buy my next car with that in mind, thus it could be easily repaired when traveling deep in each country. That info would be very helpful for a lot of travelers like students, researchers, explorers, business men, etc. What about Toyota Corolla, Ford Freestar, Chrysler Stratus (Dodge in USA) among others, they have the same model name but what about their cataloged auto parts?. We can avoid local models like: VW caribe, Nissan Tsuru, Nissan Platina among others. Having a mechanical problem can cost you a huge amount of time and money looking-waiting for that auto part, things that I would like to avoid, planning in advance. What type of make and car model do you recommend me?.
Thank you for your time. I would like to hear from you a little more details, like Model, Trim, year, how deep do you travel into each country, for how long, mechanics found that auto parts just looking in a catalog or in a junk yard, etc.
Toyota's or Honda's will be more readily repaired than US makes. I drive a Honda CRV and haven't had any problems getting it fixed.
